Beyond the Visible by Thrife Beyond the Visible by Thrife
Well.. do you know the feeling, when you run through your photos/drawings/texts and suddenly you find a nice piece which somehow slipped under your radar back when you've created it?
This one is one of these kind of feeling-bringers. I've made it back in August '12 when I freshly got my IR-filter and since then it just rested on my HDD, waiting to get published. (obviously) Now is that time.

What astonishes me most is the fact that it's so clear! it's very hard to focus in IR-range due to a focal shift I still don't fully understand. so it's mostly a try and error-play for me working with precise aperture-diameters and finding the right focal spot. But this little piece just came out after the very first shot! Even the lighting was quite perfect (for my taste) so there wasn't much afterwork in PS (for the light-part).

Anyway.. I hope it finds likings as much as it surprised me.

It's made with the standart kit lens of the Sony Alpha. I was surprised myself of the hexagon. :aww:

I'm used to seeing those with my Welta Weltur which has an iris shutter.
